I post a new cake post just a few times a year (mostly because I only make them a few times a year.)
Today’s cake share is Chee’s 7th Birthday Cake! We may have bought way too many Kit-Kat bars at Sam’s Club to be sure we had enough for the cake. I know some of our party-going friends enjoyed taking a candy bar home.
She’s in love with Pigs lately! I saw a cute cake online that was a pig mud bath and knew she would love it!! I made one piggy muddy by taking the chocolate and painting him with it. Artistic changes, right? I loved the muddy pig, I think he had the most fun in the cake.
Pig bottoms are not super “normal” for a cake, I suppose. This one I did use a little photo software on to crop out her name. Sorry to you guys, she’s just Cheech. However, I can tell you Cheech LOVED her pig cake!
It was super easy to make!!
At first I made pig bodies out of Fondant. I posted the photos the other day of the pig parts.
I made two 9″ round cakes and iced them in chocolate store-bought frosting. I iced the top and sides of the cake.
The chocolate frosting acted as a glue for the Kit-Kat bars. I took a regular Kit-Kat bar and broke it into two and used sections of two around the perimeter of the cake.
I tied the cake with a ribbon and then placed my pigs into the “mud”.
Then a dear friend of mine made the ribbon because I can’t make awesome bows like she can.
If you are wondering about making this, you can do it! It wasn’t hard, but it did take time. If you have time then go for it! It was a hit with the party and most importantly the birthday girl who has expressed regret that we ate it because she wants to look at it some more. I’m glad I took a lot of photos!!
