Kind Nuts & Spices Bars – Review and your chance to win a Kind Cube! – ends 9/7

in giveaway, product review

Today the people at KIND Nuts & Spices asked me to review their bars and to offer a one-of-a -KIND giveaway of KIND Nuts & Spices! KIND Nuts & Spices is the newest line of KIND bars finely crafted from the highest quality whole nuts and nature’s most delicious spices. Each KIND Nuts & Spices bar is a good source of protein, is high in fiber and contains only 5g of sugar (or less) — and nothing artificial. Seriously these bars seem to have so many things not in them that you will wonder why you’ve been eating ingredients you can’t pronounce on other bars.

The KIND bars are all natural (GMO free), Gluten Free, contain no sugar alcohols, are low glycemic, have very low sodium. They do have things in them like nuts, cashews, ginger, sugar, chicory root, honey, salt, and other items you can pronounce. I was sent a sample of each of the KIND Nuts & Spices bars. These bars use spices for flavor instead of added fruits and sugars so your body doesn’t have to take in any artificial sweeteners.

My favorite one was the Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt bar. I have a new thing about loving dark chocolate and sea salt. I think it’s the sweet and salty together which helps seal the deal. This bar was crunchy, sweet, and salty all in one. This one has 7g fiber, 6 g protein, and only 5g sugar! I love that everything on the label made sense and I could taste if I thought about it. I feel this is an all natural treat that I can feel good about eating! (It really feels sinful too!)

My second favorite was the Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Pecan, but I love cinnamon so that may be why. This one mixed cinnamon and chocolate to create a unique flavor. I think my husband liked this one the most. I think any healthier candy is good, and this I would be ok to send with my kids to school. This one also had 5b grams of sugar and 200 calories. There is 16 grams of fat, but with only 2 of that being saturated I have to guess the nuts have healthy fats and those are good for you. This one had dark chocolate like the other one, but still has wholesome ingredients.

Cashew & Ginger Spice was very ginger intense. If you love the flavor of ginger then this is for you! I didn’t notice many other flavors, the ginger seemed to really steal the show. Aside from the mixed nuts I think the honey complemented the ginger. I can’t say I really knew what it would taste like, but I feel it has a taste that I associate with the Holidays. I was surprised at how much flavor this bar had, but that’s good because the next on I really felt didn’t have much to offer.

The Madagascar Vanilla Almond was ok, but really didn’t have a whole lot of vanilla flavor. I suppose I was expecting a more candy-taste and this one didn’t quite hit the mark on that front. It was healthy and tasty, but it was more of a health-food taste rather than a treat. I guess it depends on what you’re after on flavor. If you like a more light flavor then this may be the one for you as it doesn’t use chocolate to mask any of the nutty flavor.

The KIND Nuts and Spices bars all seemed to hit around 200 calories, 16 grams of fat, and with 5 – 7 grams of protein and fiber, and about 4-5 grams of sugar. Those nutritional stats make these bars much better than a 6ct sleeve of Oreo cookies (or an average sized candy bar). I do feel good about letting my kids have these as an afternoon snack that will help keep them full until dinnertime.

I bet you’re about ready to try one now. Well for the giveaway the winner will receive a KIND Nuts & Spices Cube which isn’t currently available for purchase! The cube is packed with five bars of each of the four KIND Nuts & Spices flavors that I discussed (these are the four available -Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt, Cashew & Ginger Spice, Madagascar Vanilla Almond and Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Pecan) – for a total of 20 KIND bars (retail value of $42.95).

If you want to hop on over to KIND’s facebook page you can get a coupon for $.50 off a KIND bar. Their normal retail value is $1.99 a bar, so with a good store that doubles you could try one out at half price! All four varities are availbbale at KINDsnacks.com and at grocery stores nationwide!.

KIND currently offers two lines of award-winning, whole nut and fruit bars (KIND Fruit & Nut and KIND PLUS) and one line of whole grain snack clusters (KIND Healthy Grains) made from ingredients you can see and pronounce®. Additionally, KIND offers select bar varieties in smaller, 100 calorie-range portions (KIND minis). I really liked this portion and would recommend this as a wholesome and tasty snack.

I think they are awesome! I loved to travel with them b/c they don’t get all smushed like Lara bars or other energy bars.
