Do you have any healthy food ideas to share?
Oh how I love the fall!! The weather finally goes from insane to a little cool (I live in Middle Tennessee afterall). Last night I was at Publix and I noticed that many other folks had the same idea as I did – it’s Chili weather. I guess a rainy day with 68-70 for highs triggered a mad rush on chili beans.
What foods remind you of fall? I am thinking Pumpkin Pie, Chili, Cornbread, and that’s when I realized….
I need healthy food ideas for fall foods!
I’ve done ok most of the summer, but as the weather changes I’m thinking what’s more “hearty” that isn’t terribly bad for you. I guess chili isn’t bad, it’s beans mostly – but after that I’m stuck.
I started the 17 day diet in the spring and I’ve been off and on it pretty much all summer. I’ve maintained a 15 pound weight loss since starting and I don’t want to ruin that going into the fall. I know with Christmas cookies, pies, treats, etc all coming down the pike that I’m going to need more motivation to stay away from the dessert table.
Chee has only gained 1 pound since April. I know she’s young and it is a sensitive topic, but her doctor had advised us to be aware of it and try to stop gaining, and I’m so proud to say that we’re more aware now than we were a year ago. She’s managed to avoid steroids for a few months so that helps too. With cold and flu season coming up, I know her breathing issues may get worse this time of year (which means steroids again most likely).
I know I’ve griped about how it’s hard to eat healthy. It’s so easy to grab food that’s not so good for you and to avoid it takes a conscience choice. SO…please give me some ideas on healthy foods, snacks, meals, even healthy treats for the whole family with fall foods. I’d love ya forever and ever!
