About Me

Photobucket

I’m Riki, a mommy blogger who LOVES to find deals. I’m from Memphis, Tennessee originally but moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area to go to college. I got married to a native of the Nashville area and while we’ve moved around a bit, we always ended up in the greater Nashville area.

I’ve been happily married since 2000 to my hubby. We didn’t quite pick the year to get married around remembering how many years we’ve been married, but it does help with math that it’s an even number. 2012 will be 12 years, see how easy that was?

I have 2 kids, my daughter “Cheech” is 6, and my son “the boy” is 8. I love to talk some about my kiddos. They’re crazy – gee I wonder where they get that from. My DD (dear daughter) resembles my hubby but acts just like me. My son looks like a mini-me boy version but acts more like daddy. Well, he’s a mix personality wise really. She loves baby dolls and singing, he loves science and video games.

The blog is a lot about deals, but also a lot of life. I have a section that I call personal and it has Riki’s Ramblings for the most part. Just things I want to blog about that’s not deal related!

I enjoy making cakes for special occasions. I mean special, they take me a lot of time and I tend to eat a bit too much icing, so when I make a neat on you know I’m snapping a photo of it. I will share them with you for idea purposes. I do love cake wrecks though, not to make but to laugh at.

A few years ago hubby and I got into screening movies as a side hobby and we really enjoy it. Free movie, paid or family babysitter = good date night and yep, a little cheaper than before. Plus, I love to share my opinions on things. I’m highly opinionated and so I do post some movie reviews from time to time, mostly when I see them before they’re released. I love watching them, reviewing them, and finding deals on movies too.

I am a huge fan of Dave Ramsey and am still learning how to pay cash and save up before buying something. It’s a lifestyle change if it’s going to stick and so far we’re pleased with how it’s going.

And while I love deals, I have a healthy fear of Craigslist.

I have an on-again / off again losing weight relationship. I am starting to work on getting fit and not worry as much about the scale, but who am I kidding? I started back on Weight Watchers before I had kids and I loved it, Most recently I started back in January 2011. I guess it’s similar to budgeting as I’m allowed only so many points a day and I have to get creative if I want to splurge, kind of like real budgeting and deal shopping.

I love the daily deal sites and I intend to share the Nashville and Memphis deals with you often (as well as super great national ones!). You must always act fast because usually once these deals are gone they are not coming back soon.

Lastly I am based out of Middle Tennessee so when I do any regional coupon stuff it may differ from your coupons, just be aware of that.

All internet deals should apply to everyone!

Take a look around, leave me a comment if you want. I love hearing from my readers!
